If you missed last night’s show at the Fringe Club, you missed a great show by one of Hong Kong’s new great bands: El Destroyo. Billed as playing their own brand of rockabilly, I was sold; however, when their own brand of rockabilly turned out to be surf-rock – I was hooked.

Wakeboarding Mania
April 5, 2008
From the new banner, you can see yesterday’s wake boarding outing was pretty awesome. There was originally a full boat of people for the day, but Vivian was under the weather – supposedly by the recent influenza outbreak here in Hong Kong. (SARS 2008?) Then Raphael and Maximilian just bailed on us without warning and didn’t answer their phones: a bunch of bums if you ask me. In the end, it was just Magi, Chris and I for the last wake boarding adventure before Magi departs for Germany.![]()
Unlike going wake boarding in the States, none of us have a boat in Hong Kong. Fortunately, we have a great connection with boatman Michael, who picks us up at the Sai Kung pier and drags us around the many islands in the area for just HK$400 per hour: what a deal!
Here’s the video of some pacific ocean wake boarding in Hong Kong. Buckle up – there’s some turbulence.
