Engligh News From Around the World: Slovakia

It´s always fun to read the English language newspapers in foreign countries, because one is never quite sure what stories will be found.  A classic example is when I was down in Wanaka, New Zealand after a hike through the Matukituki Valley and read about Los Angeles an Ice Cream truck turf war that had culminated in one of the drivers killing the other with a homemade samurai sword after hiding in wait at the rivals home.  Friends and relatives close to the story commented that it was only a matter of time, accurate recollection pending.

In Bratislava, while chilling at the Apache Cafe bookstore, I found another great English language newspaper story:  there´s a new world champion in the sport of pitch-fork throwing!  Click on the image to read the full story!  Also, included to the left, Slovakina Mountain Porters are a Dying Breed.
